How Does Early Intervention Help?

Early intervention isn’t just for your child—it’s for your family. These services offer tools and guidance to help you better understand your child’s needs and celebrate their successes. Many families find that early intervention provides reassurance and practical support, creating a positive path forward for their child.

At The Learning Pavilion, we’re here to support your child every step of the way. Whether they need a little extra help or you simply want the best start for them, we believe in helping every child grow, learn, and shine!

Who’s eligible for early intervention?

At The Learning Pavilion, we want every family to feel supported and informed when it comes to their child’s development. Early intervention services are designed for children who may need extra help to reach important developmental milestones.

How Eligibility Works

Eligibility is determined through a thoughtful and collaborative process:

  • Developmental Screenings: Upon enrollment and twice a year, our teaching team conducts an informal Ages and Stages Developmental Screening. This helps us track your child’s progress and identify any areas where additional support may be needed.
  • Referrals and Consent: If a screening raises concerns, we’ll refer your child to our in-house therapy team for further review. This process begins with a conversation, and no further steps are taken without your written consent.
  • Assessments and Evaluations: Licensed therapists specializing in areas like speech, occupational development, and sensory processing may assess your child. These evaluations are child-friendly, using observation, play-based activities, and family input to gather insights into your child’s strengths and needs.

A Supportive Process

Our therapy team will walk you through every step, explaining what’s involved and answering your questions. The goal is to work together to understand your child’s development and determine if early intervention services could benefit them.

Determining Eligibility

If evaluations show your child could benefit from additional support, we’ll meet with you to discuss the results. Together, we’ll determine the best path forward, always focusing on what’s best for your child.
